SIA Breaks Ground on $158 Million Expansion

Subaru of Indiana Automotive furthered its commitment to the local Lafayette economy this week as the car manufacturer broke ground on two new projects expected to bring 350 new jobs to the plant.

SIA is investing $158 million to add a new service parts facility and transmission assembly shop to its 820-acre campus off of Indiana 38 in Lafayette. With around 6,000 people employed, according to SIA’s figures, it is the largest private employer in Tippecanoe County.
