Vice President Communications
Annemarie Pender has spent most of her career amplifying the voice of international automobile companies in the United States on issues of trade, safety, and the environment. Pender joined Autos Drive America in 2020 where she played a key role launching the newly created Association and led the transformation of its brand (formerly Here For America).
Previously she spent ten years at the Association for Global Automakers. During that time, she designed and managed large-scale public affairs campaign initiatives, leveraging public relations, advertising, journalism, and events. She spearheaded nine Telly Award-winning campaigns through the Association’s Here For America coalition.
Prior to joining Global Automakers, Pender was an integral member of the public affairs teams at American Honda Motor Company, Inc., and Mazda North American Operations. She gained government relations experience working for the American Textile Manufacturers Institute. For several years she taught strategic communications at American University as an adjunct professor. Pender holds a Master of Arts in Public Communications from American University.
